My dad died 11 months ago and my mum wants to remarry?

I would google him to see if there are any news stories about wrong doing in his past. When you are in your 60s 8 weeks doesn't seem like such a brief period of time like when you are in your 20s. Also in your 20s you have a long life together with kids etc in the future. They are prob. retired and looking for companionship in their golden years, that's all. The prospect of having no one at the end of life is very depressing for some. Also it is harder for women to find companionship because there are so many more elderly women than men. You have very good insight into the situation, and I think there is nothing that will cure this but time. You lost your dad and that is devastating. He cannot be replaced. So it is hard to see your mom pick up the pieces. Embrace your own family and rejoice in the power of love and connectedness to others. Best of luck.
